My interest in early childhood intervention within the field of speech therapy was awakened during my final year of studies, which I had the opportunity to spend on an internship in Poland, in a children’s hospital in the neonatology department. Upon my return, I immediately began working in the area of early intervention and rehabilitation, and soon after enrolled in a Postgraduate Specialist Study in Early Intervention in Educational Rehabilitation, which I am currently completing. My passion and professional focus lie in the early stimulation of communication and language-speech development, where I believe it is essential to provide parents and families with ongoing support and guidance so they can best support their child in all stages of development. My professional path, as well as my education, are directed toward the area of social communication and interaction, particularly with children diagnosed with or suspected of Autism Spectrum Disorder. In addition to individual therapies, I also work with groups, where children learn social skills, communication, emotional expression, and reduction of social barriers through specialized programs. This approach is based on everyday, close interaction and adapting therapies to the specific needs of each child, with the active involvement of parents and families.

I have also dedicated myself to the field of oral-motor difficulties, where I have been trained in TalkTools oral placement therapy, first level. This specialization allows me to work with children who have difficulties with feeding, swallowing, or speech, and the therapy itself is based on precise, targeted work on the oral muscles, which contributes to a better quality of life for the children.

As a pediatrician, the most fulfilling years of my career have been those spent working with preterm infants. This sensitive group of patients influenced my decision to become a subspecialist in neonatology. Caring for a newborn in the earliest days of life forms a special bond between doctor, parents, and child, as we face all the challenges together from the very beginning. One of my major areas of interest within neonatology is ultrasound diagnostics—screening for birth injuries or congenital brain malformations, congenital heart defects, and kidney anomalies. For many years, I have worked as a pediatric orthopedic specialist at the Children’s Hospital in Zagreb, where I have the opportunity to contribute to the musculoskeletal health of my young patients from the earliest stages of life.

In my clinical practice, I combine conservative and surgical treatment methods to achieve the best possible outcomes for my patients.

My key areas of interest include the early detection and treatment of developmental hip disorders, as well as other congenital and acquired musculoskeletal deformities. I also specialize in pediatric sports traumatology, arthroscopic and reconstructive knee surgery, the treatment of cerebral palsy, and musculoskeletal tumors.

I serve as the lead instructor of an ultrasound-based course dedicated to the early diagnosis of developmental hip disorders. I believe it is essential that every child feels welcome and understood, as emotional comfort—alongside expert medical care and close cooperation with parents—is vital for successful recovery and overall well-being.

I began my physiotherapy career nearly twenty years ago with an internship at the Special Hospital Goljak, where I instantly fell in love with working with children. Since then, I’ve dedicated my professional focus to neurodevelopmental therapy, building a solid foundation through core education in the Bobath concept.

Over the years, I’ve invested heavily in further training to provide children with high-quality, individualized support, while being a reliable source of strength for parents during the challenges of early development. I believe that expertise must go hand in hand with empathy, understanding, and a team-based approach—principles I strive to apply every day in my work.

I’ve spent my entire 30-year career in pediatrics.

My work involves performing EEGs—a diagnostic procedure that is painless, non-radiating, non-invasive, and harmless. The only important requirement is that the patient, usually a child, remains calm—which is always a big challenge.

With a positive attitude and lots of patience, everything is achievable.

I’ve been immersed in sound my entire life—from music production to therapeutic sound, which has been my focus for the past decade. In my practice, I’ve combined a deep love for sound with a love for people, and every day I witness how sound can be both gentle and powerful—a truly beneficial tool for human well-being.

I’ve worked with individuals of all ages, and in recent years increasingly with children. In practice, sound has proven to be a wonderful ally in supporting progress when challenges arise in motor skills, speech, concentration, and similar areas.

At Salvea Polyclinic, for the first time, we’re integrating sound therapy alongside conventional medicine. I’m here to introduce you to all the benefits sound therapy can offer your child. I completed my training at the British Academy of Sound Therapy and am a member of the Sound Healers Association (SHA) in the United States.

Together with my colleague Lara Ljubičić, I co-created the internationally awarded Sonic Pill sound therapy method and its accompanying mobile app.

From day one of my long-standing career, I’ve been fortunate to live out my vocation alongside the youngest—infants and preschool-aged children. Working with children is a reward in itself, offering countless opportunities for continuous learning. Today, I can confidently say that this experience has enriched me with knowledge and skills that enable me to support both the child and their family through everyday challenges, specific emotional experiences, and developmental particularities.

My lifelong professional interest in pediatric nephrology has centered around chronic kidney diseases in children, dialysis, and kidney transplantation. Throughout my career, I’ve gained extensive experience in these areas. Together with the late Primarius Dr. Zvonimir Puretić, I took part in developing the pediatric dialysis and kidney transplant program in the Republic of Croatia. I’ve undergone specialized training several times at the transplant center in Lyon, France, and have also collaborated with the transplant center in Padua, Italy.

Within the field of dermatology and venereology, my primary area of interest is pediatric dermatology—with a particular focus on atopic dermatitis, from infancy through adulthood. I also specialize in mole examinations and acne treatment. My clinical experience has been shaped through work at the Department of Pediatric Dermatology, where a holistic approach and close collaboration with parents have long been central to care. I’m grateful to be able to continue this tradition at Salvea Polyclinic. What brings me the greatest joy is seeing children and their parents leave our clinic happy and satisfied.

I completed my studies in educational rehabilitation with the hope of helping parents understand that a diagnosis should not be seen as an obstacle to a full and meaningful life—for their child and for the entire family. Through work focused on the child’s individual needs and the nurturing of their strengths, I strive to empower and equip them to function independently in everyday life and to fulfill their own potential.
