The pediatric endocrinologist’s examination includes a detailed interview, medical history taking, complete clinical check-up and anthropometric measurements of the child – body height, body mass, body mass index, head circumference, abdominal circumference… The examination also includes counselling for parents and young patients regarding complaints, signs and symptoms that could indicate a disease of the endocrine system. This can be growth that is too low or too high for age and sex, delay or absence of pubertal development, signs of premature puberty (premature appearance of axillary or pubic hair, growth of testicles and breasts, acne…), obesity and suspected thyroid, parathyroid, adrenal, gonad or pituitary disease.

An examination by a pediatric diabetologist includes an interview, taking a medical history, a complete clinical examination and anthropometric measurements (body height, body mass, body mass index, head circumference, abdominal circumference…) as well as counselling if there are complaints which may arouse suspicion of diabetes (increased thirst and frequent urination, pronounced hunger, weight loss, nausea, vomiting, dizziness and fainting, weakness and fatigue). Also, if we are talking about a child who has already been diagnosed with diabetes, and you think that a disease control analysis, revision of insulin therapy, or counselling and education about diabetes treatment measures is needed, our diabetologist endocrinologist will be happy to answer all your questions.

Ultrasound ofthe thyroid gland
An ultrasound examination of the thyroid gland in children is a quick, painless and harmless test that should be done if a small patient has symptoms that would indicate thyroid disease. It is performed by applying a small ultrasound probe to the neck area and shows us the appearance, structure, size and possible changes (e.g. cysts and nodules) of the thyroid gland. The examination is painless and children do not feel discomfort during the procedure.
