The first meetingwith the child andthe parent
When you come to us for the first time, together we will go through everything that is bothering you, examine the situation and make a plan for the future. Depending on the child’s needs, we can arrange psychological counseling, psychological assessment, group workshops, as well as additional assessments (identification of gifted children, professional orientation). As a parent, you can also opt for personal psychological counseling and group education.
Psychological counselingof children
The period of childhood and puberty is very sensitive and challenging, which is why we make sure that children are provided with the necessary psychological help and support. When the child comes to us, he will talk with the psychologist in a pleasant and safe atmosphere about the problems that are bothering him. We are here to give children the support they need, regardless of the nature of the difficulties they face.

Psychological counselingof parents (live/online)
A systematic review monitors whether your child is developing as expected for a certain age and how the height and body weight are moving on the chart. On top of that a detailed assessment of the child’s psychomotor development is made. The last, but not least, part of the systematic review is dedicated to the conversation between parents and our expert team, which is always ready to answer all your questions.
Psychological (developmental)assessment of children ofearly and preschool age
In order to determine the level of children’s psychomotor and socioemotional development and cognitive abilities, a psychological assessment of children is recommended. When the child comes in for evaluation, they will talk to a psychologist, fill out certain psychological tests and questionnaires, and the psychologist will then write a clinical report and suggest next steps.

Psychological assessment ofschool-age children
Sometimes difficulties in children’s development are not detected in early or preschool age, which is why psychological assessment of children can be carried out at a later age. As with younger children, the psychological assessment of school-aged children consists of an interview with a psychologist and the completion of psychological tests and questionnaires. Based on the child’s results and overall impression, the psychologist determines the level of his psychomotor, socioemotional and cognitive development, writes a clinical report and suggests next steps.

Education for parents
Parenting is very challenging. Fortunately, child rearing can (and should) be learned and practiced! In our polyclinic, we therefore organize group workshops with the aim of educating parents on various topics related to parenting and child development, such as postpartum depression, separation anxiety, depression in children, anxiety in children, bullying at school and developmental disabilities, and we often research neglected questions such as how to raise a child and how to identify a gifted child. The workshops are held by psychologists, independently or in collaboration with another expert (for example, a speech therapist or a nutritionist), depending on their topic (for example, feeding difficulties in young children, encouraging communication through visual support). In order to create a safe environment, we work in small groups of a maximum of 6 people.

Workshops for children
Some children open up more easily in groups of their peers than in individual work with a psychologist, which is why we hold group workshops for school-aged children who face similar difficulties. Through five workshops, small groups of three to six children, guided by a psychologist, will practice various skills, such as learning skills, social skills, emotional regulation, control of anger and frustration, and relaxation skills.

Professional orientation
The decision to choose the direction of education and occupation is not easy, and a professional can help the child in this. Professional orientation consists of a doctor’s examination, completion of psychological tests and an interview with a psychologist, followed by professional opinion and counseling of the children. Its goal is to help children of high school age in choosing the direction of professional development, and it is also available for children of elementary school age with the addition of a conversation with the parent.
Team assessment
Whether your child is exhibiting specific difficulties and symptoms or you simply want to check how his overall development is progressing, a team assessment is a good decision. The child will be examined by a pediatrician, a subspecialist and a psychologist and will give their expert opinion on his psychophysical condition. If a specific health condition is identified, a diagnosis will be made and further steps will be suggested so that the child receives the best help and support needed.
Identification ofgifted children
A gifted child often remains unrecognized, and due to his expressed curiosity in various areas and activities, he is often mistakenly diagnosed with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). We make sure that gifted children are recognized in order to provide them with all the conditions for encouraging giftedness and interest. The assessment of giftedness consists of a conversation with a psychologist and the completion of psychological tests and questionnaires, followed by a written opinion of the psychologist.

Advice and support forthe parents of gifted children
Gifted children bring with them additional educational challenges, and our goal is that every gifted child receives support and the opportunity to develop their abilities, skills and interests. For parents of gifted children, we therefore recommend counseling with a psychologist about stimulating curiosity in gifted children, the way and skills of their upbringing, the effects of family relationships on the child’s development and about creating a stimulating environment that matches the child’s personality and interests.
